Busy bees at 1st Primary School Bjelovar
During this week the pupils in the Croatian school assembled the boxes for waste sorting. The boxes were put in each classroom so that the trash is sorted properly in order to be recycled. They also put a list of things that should go in each box to help the other pupils.
They also put up stickers with sentences like "Turn off the light!" and " Turn off the water!" all around the school in order to make pupils aware of the importance of not wasting water and electricity. Our pupil Vili made the drawings for the stickers. Hope you like them! I know we do... :)

Meeting in Germany
From the 25 th till the 27 th of October, the coordinating teachers finally had the chance to get
to know each other face to face. Although this meeting was planned for 2020 and had to be
cancelled due to Covid-19, we managed to work together very well via digital meetings. But
this could not replace a meeting face to face. So we were very happy to be finally able to
meet each other and work closely together.
The seven teachers from Latvia, Spain and Croatia arrived on Monday, the 24 th , and made
their way to the German school on Tuesday morning. The first day we got to know each
other and talked about the different experiences with projects of Erasmus+. We also got to
know the school, the mayor of Siegburg and the headmistress. This day was very important,
because knowing your partners well, helps a lot during the execution of the project. We also
presented the small projects every school worked on during the last year to make their
schools eco-friendlier. Projects like a school garden, fabricating own paper, reducing waste
and paper, a meadow of wildflowers and collecting waste were presented and discussed.
On the second day we talked about the digital platforms, which are important for the execution
of Erasmus+ projects like TwinSpace and eTwinning. The Croatian partner school has a
certificate as ‘eTwinning-School’ and explained to us all the important features of these
platforms. We also learned about using a blog and uploading our meetings and products on
TwinSpace. This day was important because all of us know now what to do for the
Erasmus+-community and how to use the platform, so our project reaches the most people
possible.
On the last day, we planned in detail the upcoming exchanges. We also wanted to carry them
out in 2021, but due to Covid-19, it was not possible. That’s why we postponed them to 2022
and started working in our schools first. The exchanges will have different purposes:
1) Talk about the ideas and projects to make schools more eco-friendly and learn from each
other.
2) Get to know each other and the different countries and cultures.
3) Discuss which ideas are possible and appropriate to carry out in the other schools as well.
All in all, this teachers' meeting was a success and very important for the work in the future.
